Mobile Apps

Hybrid Apps

Today, most mobile apps are divided into two types: HTML apps based primarily on the HTML5 standard, or Native apps which are written directly in the programming language relevant to a specific operating system (for example, Java or C). Native apps will seemingly always be better and more fully able to exploit all the various capabilities of the device, especially when it comes to graphics and game development through standards like OpenGL.

Their disadvantages are longer development time and the need for broader knowledge of the world of programming, especially among those coming from the field of web app or website development.

Native Apps

Native apps are applications that are developed through the integral development tools of a mobile platform.
These development tools are based on common development languages: Java or C for Android, Objective C for iOS (Apple) and C# for Windows Phone. Integral development results in a product that ultimately utilizes all the capabilities of the device such as GPS, Bluetooth, camera, microphone and graphics hardware, used primarily for all those games that today are no less powerful than those for PC and game consoles.

HTML5 Apps

HTML5 apps are applications based on standard HTML5 which make it possible to build not only websites, but also real applications that work through a browser and include animations, graphics effects and even access to the advanced features of the device like reading its current location through GPS (for example, when you visit Google’s site, it recognizes where you are geographically). In fact, HTML5 is not a single technology, but rather a collection of technologies that optimally work in tandem (for example, JavaScript libraries or web design
language CSS 3).

PhoneGap Apps

Application development using PhoneGap allows you to take an app written in HTML5 code and wrap it in a kind of casing that turns it into an integral device application, making it possible to distribute it from the relevant app store. Because HTML5 is based on an age-old standard with which programmers and many site developers are already familiar, building a PhoneGap app is very similar to building a pure HTML5 app and requires almost no tampering with the specific code of each device.
